president: JOANNE TERRY

Joanne began taking riding lessons at the age of eight. She owns five Paso Finos of various ages. Her Paso mare Larisa has ridden on the Salt Grass Trail Ride for the last several years and is an avid competitor in team sorting. Joanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and works as a legal nurse consultant. She lives on her farm in Navasota, TX.

John has been involved with the SWPFHA since 1990 and has held different titles with the SWPFHA. He believes strongly in the importance of keeping the SWPFHA members informed of news from the national PFHA and representing the region's point of view at the national level.  He and his wife and daughter have shown their Paso Fino horses successfully at regional, national & international events.  John owns Rancho del Toboso near Gatesville, Texas.


Miriam got involved with SWPFHA when discussions about its formation began and saw Capucchino compete in his first US Nationals.  Miriam now enjoys her Paso Finos at Tierra de Las Brisas in Austin. She and her husband, Jimmy, operate Little Buckaroo Ranch year round - sharing their enthusiasm for horses & ranch life with kids from all around central Texas and visitors to Austin from around the world     


treasurer: ellen perez

Ellen has been involved with Paso Fino horses since 1976 and she's been with SWPFHA since its inception, serving as President, Vice-President and Treasurer while helping to organize many regional events such as local schooling shows & clinics, community demos & trail rides.  Ellen managed regional shows for SWPFHA and is a PFHA Senior Certified Judge, holding an "R" judging status with the USEF in the Paso Fino breed.
