The Paso Fino horse reflects its Spanish heritage through its proud carriage, grace and elegance. Modern care and selective breeding have enhanced its beauty, refinement and well-proportioned conformation that convey strength and power without extreme muscling.
With its lively but controlled spirit, natural gait and presence, and responsive attitude, the Paso Fino is indeed, a rare and desirable equine partner.
Letter from our President, David Sanderson
Dear Southwestern Members and Horse enthusiasts
Here is wishing you all a very happy, healthy and enjoyable 2012. It is my wish that you get the most enjoyment from your Paso Finos and other horses, possible this year. To that end the SWPFHA is looking to become more active than ever before in creating an environment and activities that will aid in this enjoyment, whether it be showing, trail riding, obstacle events, clinics and the like.
We are working to strengthen our organization by increasing our commitment to build a stronger infrastructure: our web site has been revitalized, we have added a SWPFHA Facebook Group http://www.facebook.com/groups/swpfha, we are reviewing our government filings, we are establishing budgets for our shows and organization, and other projects as they arise. Additionally, we are reaching out to parts of our Region that have been somewhat neglected in recent years. It is our goal to have more of a presence in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Northern Louisana. We have identified people in both Oklahoma and Arkansas willing to host rides this year. We are also striving to be better communicators to all of our members.
What is going to make all of these efforts work? People. People that are interested in participating, helping and enjoying the fellowship in working and playing together with their horses. Your help, participation, ideas and criticism is needed and encouraged. If you see we are not doing enough or not doing them correctly, please let me or one of our board members know. We look to be responsive and answer any questions you may have.
Happy Trails, happy shows and happy horses and riders to all for 2012.
Sincerely,
David Sanderson
President SWPFHA
